Midwife Laura doyle
I’m Laura Doyle (LD)—midwife, birth center owner, and lifelong believer in the strength of women and families.
My path to midwifery began the day after my first baby was born. The belief my midwives held in me—and the way they trusted birth—changed my life. I knew right then that this was the work I was meant to do.
For nearly twenty years I’ve served families as a rural midwife in the hills of Northern California—the 707 zone. That experience shaped my philosophy of mind, body, and spirit care for pregnancy, birth, and family life.
Today my work centers around helping families step into Braving Birth—trusting their bodies, preparing with intention, and feeling supported through one of the most powerful transitions of life.
I’m also the co-owner of Moonstone Midwives Birth Center, a midwife-owned freestanding birth center in Humboldt County where families can experience physiologic birth in a calm, supportive space.
Beyond birth care, I share education and community through Midwife Sessions, herbal nourishment through Midwife Made, and honest conversations about life, motherhood, and birth through my podcast Ask Midwife 707 — Intimate Conversations from Womb to Tomb- where I invite you to listen, laugh, and cry while exploring birth stories, rants and interviews that encompass all of life’s natural events.
Because birth isn’t just about bringing a baby into the world. It’s about growing families, building community, and learning how strong we really are.
